When our client's Managed Service Provider (MSP) programme in the UK expanded to include contingent labor management in the United States, we implemented our direct sourcing model. Within the first year of deployment, Pontoon's direct sourcing model generated $256,385 in cost savings, and in the third year, annual savings had increased to $699,000.

Building a resilient talent pool of contingent workers
Pontoon's teams sourced, screened, and recruited candidates to support our client's contingent workforce programme in the United States. We set new KPIs for the US team, aiming to submit three candidates within 48 hours of receiving a requisition. We used tailored outreach strategies and Pontoon Intelligence to identify and approach suitable candidates quickly.
Candidates who passed the initial screening were shortlisted for hiring manager reviews. We also built a talent community to re-engage strong candidates for future roles.
Almost $700K client cost savings per year
Our direct sourcing approach yielded quick results. In the first six months, our customer saved $23,483 in recruiting costs, translating to $1,468 per worker.
We filled 20% of requisitions with direct sourcing in the first year of the programme, saving $256,385 annually. In the next year, savings increased to $649,000, and the fulfilment ratio improved to 24.4%.
The direct sourcing model also improved recruitment efficiency. 78% of requisitions received resumes within 48 hours, and 100% received three resumes within 72 hours.
Additionally, direct candidates had a submit-to-offer time two days faster than agency candidates, with a 15% offer rate compared to 8% for agencies.
Three years after implementation, client savings reached $699,000, and in the fourth year, the programme achieved nearly $460,000 in savings in just the first half of the year.
