Optimising supplier pool for IT and tech contingent roles
When our global financial services client signed a three-year MSP renewal with Pontoon, they aimed to prioritise IT and tech-related contingent roles. To support this shift, the client needed a revamped supplier pool, and Pontoon was tasked with overhauling it. Our goal was clear: identify and onboard high-performing suppliers who could deliver on time and within budget.
Strategic supplier selection fuels hiring success
To meet the client’s evolving needs, Pontoon’s team launched a market-wide supplier search, issuing new RFPs. From a competitive field, we identified a select group of top-performing partners with a strong focus on IT and tech staffing.
One standout supplier — Akkodis — met all critical criteria: from talent location coverage to agility and scalability. Following a thorough evaluation process, they were selected as one of seven new partners to support the programme.
Pontoon collaborated closely with Akkodis’ team to ensure a smooth onboarding and alignment with the client’s business objectives. Our joint efforts were aligned with our customer's business goals, ensuring a seamless transition and adjustment to shifting market demand. Biweekly check-ins enabled proactive communication and supported performance against service level expectations.
Dedicated recruiters were assigned to the programme, focusing solely on tech roles. Regular milestone meetings at 30, 90, and 120 days after go-live helped maintain momentum and measure progress. Pontoon also hosted resume review workshops that improved shortlisting rates and contributed to a higher volume of interview requests — ultimately resulting in stronger hiring outcomes.
